Detroit Lake State Park is located along the north shore of Detroit Lake. The park offers a variety of campsites, modern restrooms with electricity and showers, boat ramps, boat moorage and an accessible fishing dock. Detroit Lake is known for its fishing, boating of all types, water skiing, jet skiing, scenery and wildlife. The campground offers daytime and evening programs, children's crafts, and a Junior Ranger program. There are facilities for playing horseshoes, volleyball and basketball; two playgrounds; five designated swim areas and a 2.7 mile hiking trail running the perimeter of the campground. Firewood and ice are available for sale. The park's Visitor Center offers a free cup of coffee and an assortment of items for sale including: park souvenirs and apparel, games, educational books and toys. Those who need to register extra vehicles or have reserved boat slips will need to come to the registration booth. Check in time is 4pm. Popular amenities include two boat docks with over 80 boat moorage slips, two boat ramps, a fishing dock, five swimming areas, two playgrounds, showers and firewood. The Visitor Center provides information on activities and services in the area. Firewood, ice, soft drinks, gifts and souvenirs can be purchased in the gift store. The park keeps F Loop open for year-round camping. Sites are full-hookup and reservable. |

The park has a strict vehicle policy, allowing a MAXIMUM of 2 vehicles per campsite. A second vehicle is charged an Extra Vehicle fee, paid upon arrival at the park. The nightly Extra Vehicle fee is $7.00. Due to winter lake levels, there is no accessible boat ramp or moorage available at the campground during the late fall and winter season. Boats can be launched at the Mongold Day-Use Area winter boat ramp. Please call Detroit Lake State Park at 503-854-3406 for more information or to check on lake levels. Boat slips at Detroit Lake are closed to reservations during August and September due to unpredictable water levels. They will be available on a first-come, first serve basis at the park. For boat slip reservations mid-April through July call 800-452-5687. There is no dump station at the park. The nearest dump station is 18 miles west. Generators are not allowed at Detroit Lake SRA. There is an $8 reservation fee per site reserved. An $8 transaction fee is charged for any date or site changes made to an existing reservation. *Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the end of the stay will only pay an $8 transaction fee.
